about the launceston competitions
The Launceston Competitions began 121 years ago, making it one of the longest continual-running eisteddfods in Australia. Presbyterian Minister, Reverend Henry Jones, together with his committee, commenced the competitions and it has continued ever since.
A community-based, not-for-profit organisation, we offer the following genres for entry: Speech and Drama, Music and Dancing.
The Launceston Competitions take place annually from May until July and provide a safe and supportive opportunity for performers of all ages.
